Type_file

Subtype of Type_DOMS. Type for the metadata object representing a file. The file is stored in a bitstorage outside the Fedora metadata storage.

Objects of the type MUST not have any elements other than 'title' in the DC or the DomsDC datastream.

Extensions to Type DOMS

  • Datastreams

    • Relations RDF relations to other objects (RELS-EXT)

      • isFileFormat -> Fileformat Object relation to object with object type fileformat; this object holds the format of the actual file

      • ?hasOriginal -> File Object relation to object with object type file; if the file was converted on ingest, this relation is to the metadata object representing the original file

    • Content datastream with reference to the actual file in bitstorage

    • Technical datastream with the technical metadata specified by file format object referenced by isFileFormat
