We can expect that copyright agreements are in place by the time we receive the data. The risk is that we cannot implement the agreements as intended, which probably will cause collection owners / copyright holders to hold back content.

There is some risk that agreements exist or are unknowingly made that are difficult to implement.

Examples:

• Non-transparent who is allowed to access material when, like in original netmusik agreements
• Watermarking-requirements including user information

When to react?

Reaction

We can close for access to a collection where copyright issues are disputed while resolving the conflict.

We can renegotiate the contract.
