Analysis of the Advanced DOMS System Management
In the beginning we assumed that the DOMS had to be able to suspend the ingest in order to make it possible to take backup of the databases. However, we came to the conclusion that it was not necessary as the databases were only caches which could be rebuild. So, this task may be obsolete, at least when it comes to the suspend functionality.
We have considered using JMX for modification of program parameters at runtime, such as the detail level of the log output.
