Notes on Trusted Digital Repository Requirements
We had a meeting with Colin on July 5th 2007. We talked mostly about the requirements being vague and about part of DPE being to formulate clear (and preferably short) standards. A requirement that we are pretty certain about is, that we need to be able to proove that we do what we promise to do. This means that we at least need logging and probably also versioning. Kåre will look at RLG/NARA audit checklist and I will look at DRAMBORA. The DRAMBORA notes have been moved to NotesOnDrambora.
Notes on the 'Identify Requirements for Trusted Digital Repositories' Action
If the action is 'Meeting with CSR, LC', we are half done. Let us take a look at task C:
- C. Identify trusted digital repository requirements
- C.1. Call meetings with Planets(Lars)/DPE(Colin).
- C.1.1. Identify requirements from Planets in order to perform preservation planning".
- C.1.2. Identify requirements regarding logging of DOMS usage and access control".
- C.2. Determine if any TDR functionality can be inherited from the Planets project to avoid redundant implementations.
- C.3. Perform tasks neccesary for Trusted Digital Repository, based on previous points.
- C.1. Call meetings with Planets(Lars)/DPE(Colin).
If the action is to identify trusted digital repository requirements, we need to read a bit more, extract checklist and probably go through the audit stages to determine relevance, and we need to define the limits of the DOMS project responsibilities...
